General Procedures

Reporting

An important area of your child's progress is the reporting process. We report your child's progress to you five times a year. We have two informal, and three formal reporting periods a year.

The Parent Teacher interviews in the Fall and the Student Led Conferences in the early Spring make up the informal reports. Please be mindful that since the Covid Pandemic has been around, these sessions may not be 'in-person', but rather via online or by telephone.

The three written Report Cards in late Fall, Spring and the end of the school year constitute our formal reports.

We welcome your feedback and questions on your child's progress during reporting periods and at any other time.

Assemblies

Edgehill Elementary has a "School Reflection" assembly on the First Friday of each month. Students who have been identified by their teachers as having done some particularly good work, or who have shown a good effort, may be recognized. There is a different focus each month based around our Code of Conduct so that every child's learning strengths may be emphasized throughout the year.

Supervision

Our school grounds are supervised Monday through Friday by teachers, SSA's and administrators:

Before school    8:45a.m. to 8:55 a.m.

Recess    10:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Lunchtime    12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

After school    2:44 p.m. to 2:55 p.m.

Just a reminder that students are unsupervised at all other times before and after school and our grounds are sometimes inhabited by bears and cougars. To ensure your child's safety we recommend that they arrive at school no earlier than 8:45a.m. and leave by 2:50 p.m.

Lost And Found

We generally have an extensive collection of shirts, jackets, shoes, socks, and assorted items in our Lost and Found hamper.

Please label your children's clothing for ease in returning lost articles.
