Remembrance Day & National Indigenous Veterans Day In Schools
Assemblies were held across all schools in our district today in honour of Remembrance Day, observed on November 11. Today was especially meaningful, as November 8, is National Indigenous Veterans Day. Each school paid tribute in its own unique way, with activities that included listening to stories from veterans who shared their experiences, learning about the significance of Remembrance Day and the importance of peace, reading poems such as “In Flanders Fields” and “If You Remember Me”, listening to performances by school choirs, and reflecting with a moment of silence to honour all those who courageously sacrificed and still do for our freedom.
