May's SOGI Snippet
Conversations about SOGI topics are important for all parents and guardians to have with their students. These conversations help young people better understand the world around them, and - if a child has an identity that fits within the 2SLGBTQ+ community - it may create a sense of safety and reassurance for them to share their authentic self with the world.
The first step is to create a sense of trust, safety, and openness. If you’re not sure how to approach these conversations, SOGI 123’s parent resources may help, or reach out to your child’s school counsellor.
